Refund & Cancellation Policy

At UpDating, we work hard to help you find real, meaningful connections. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how commitment fees, cancellations, and refunds are handled on our platform.

📌 1. Commitment Fees & Payment Process

  • When a user (initiator) sends a date invite, their payment is only authorized, not immediately deducted.

  • Once the other user (receiver) accepts the invite and successfully completes their payment, both payments (initiator and receiver) are captured to finalize the date booking.

  • If the receiver does not accept, the initiator’s authorized payment is automatically released, and no deduction or refund process is needed.

 

📌 2. Cancellation and Refunds After Confirmation

Once both users have confirmed and the payments are captured, the following cancellation and refund rules apply:

More than 2 days before the date 100% refund
1 day before the date 50% refund
On the day of the date No refund

 

  • The cancellation time is counted up to midnight of the scheduled date (local time of the event).

 

📌 3. Refund Processing Time

  • Approved refunds will be processed back to your original payment method within 3–5 business days.

  • You will receive an email notification once your refund has been initiated.

 

📌 4. Special Circumstances

  • If a scheduled venue becomes unavailable due to reasons beyond our control, we will:

    • Offer to reschedule the date free of cost.

    • Or issue a full refund if rescheduling is not possible.

  • For personal emergencies (e.g., medical emergencies), users can reach out to our support team.
    While not guaranteed, we may consider special full or partial refunds on a case-by-case basis.

 

📌 5. No-Shows or Late Arrivals

  • If a user fails to show up or arrives significantly late without informing, it will be noted internally.

  • No refunds are issued in case of no-shows or late arrivals.
